💛 Hi, neighbors! These are local nonprofits I’ve picked myself, ones I think are doing good work in our community. It’s not a complete list, and every group here is chosen by me personally. – Kathy
🏛️ Save CR Heritage
An all-volunteer Cedar Rapids nonprofit that preserves historic buildings through assistance, advocacy and action. Their monthly salvage sales at the J.E. Halvorson House, 606 Fifth Ave. SE, offer vintage doors, windows, doorknobs and more rescued from buildings slated for demolition, and they’re turning the 1920s Zastera Pharmacy on Ellis Blvd. NW into an architectural salvage shop and community hub.
Public meetings are the last Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Halvorson House.
