Share the sparkle, neighbor. Spotted a dazzling light display, a beautifully decorated tree, or a cozy holiday scene somewhere in Linn County? We would be delighted to see it. Every photo is looked over personally by Kathy before it appears here, so this little gallery stays lovely, kind and safe for everyone.
🎄 This Season’s Photos
Our gallery is waiting for its very first photo.
Won’t you be the one to light it up? See below for how to send yours.
📸 How to Share a Photo
Email your photo to [email protected] with the subject “Christmas photo.” In your note, please tell us:
- The neighborhood, town or general area (for example, “Bowman Woods, Cedar Rapids” or “near Thomas Park, Marion”).
- A few words about the scene, if you like.
- Whether you would like credit, and if so, your first name only.
Our Tell Us form is perfect for a note or a tip about a display worth visiting, but it can’t carry photos, so please email the picture itself.
🛡️ Keeping Everyone Safe
We take your privacy, and your neighbors’ privacy, to heart. Before you send a photo, please check that it shows:
- No recognizable faces, especially children’s. Lights, trees and decorations are the stars here.
- No house numbers, license plates or street signs that could pinpoint a home.
- No full street addresses. We only share a neighborhood or general area.
- Only photos you took yourself, of displays you can see from a public street or of your own home.
Here is our promise to you:
- Kathy reviews every photo before it is posted, and may crop, blur or decline any photo to protect privacy.
- Credit is your choice: first name and neighborhood only, or no name at all.
- Removal on request: if you ever want a photo taken down, simply email [email protected] and we will remove it promptly. The same goes for any homeowner who sees their own home here.
- We never share your email address or last name.
By sending a photo, you confirm that you took it and give Linn Neighbors permission to share it here, with credit as you choose.
